Too Much Fun

If you don't already know the work of the Too Much Fun Club then you are missing out, so go check their work out asap

http://www.facebook.com/thetoomuchfunclub

I'm proud to say that, as of a few months ago, I was asked to become an official member and I look forward to working with all the guys again soon. A great bunch of fellas and a talented group too boot.

Last week myself and my good buddy Matt Sloe (fellow TMFC'er) were asked to paint the bar for the ECA sculpture departments Xmas party. We only really had an afternoon to complete it so I think we did pretty darn well to get her done......

Matty on the job

At one point Matt had minions help fill in

Sadly didn't last long....................

And that was that. Have a very merry Christmas one and all, and go check out more of Matt Sloe's stellar work here......... http://mattsloetheuniyears.wordpress.com/2012/12/07/good-things-on-a-plate/

another print and paint extravaganza

Here for your viewing pleasure is another screen-print and paint combo from a few weeks back. I haven't varnished this bad boy yet as I'm still not sure about it..............

Silkscreen and paint

One ear, five diamonds, spray-paint shenanigans, one evil eye, one not so evil eye, one screen-printed photey face and AYE that's this painting from a while ago.............

And here's another little painting I finished a couple of weeks ago............

Flatpack exhibition

As we edge near to the end of the semester the work load keeps piling up and I still haven't posted all my new stuff on my blog but here I am and here it is , the delayed pics of our exhibition from a few weeks back........

This is a painting by my good friend Charlotte Roseberry, love it

There are quite a few pieces in this that I have not posted on here yet so keep an eye out for that...

Royal Scottish Academy Open 2012 exhibition

A few weeks back I entered a competition to have a piece of work exhibited in the RSA National gallery and amazingly my painting got chosen, I was pretty chuffed as this was the first (and possibly the last) time I have had work displayed in a National gallery. The opening was fun and a lot more fancy than what we are normally used to, waiters and cocktails instead of cheap wine in plastic cups which is the usual fare for gallery openings. I couldn't get any decent pictures of the piece on the night as the place was rammed, but I will go back and take some and post them up here asap...

And here's a review of the show within which I get a mention ................http://scottishartblog.com/2012/12/04/rsa-open-2012/

Another collage framed

project space

I am super busy at the moment hence the lack of posts. Last week myself, Theo Cleary and India Bunce put together a quick exhibition in the project space. Putting our work together was fun, and for only an hours preperation I think it looked pretty dang good.

Framed collages

Playing around with framing my collages, still not sure if I approve but here they are....

Studio space

My studio-space has become such a mess that I am starting to lose stuff amongst the carnage but I kind of like it that way....

The view from the window isn't too shabby (yup that is Edinburgh castle)

Printing on paint

Here's one of the paintings I screen printed onto. After messing up the screen-print I sanded it back to reprint but ended up preferring it half sanded. Note the rounded corners, loving using the rounded corners.

Speaking of rounded corners I did the same to my bird painting. Here it is rounded corners, varnished, and mounted.
